About Twelve Men's Morris

Twelve Men's Morris is the larger, denser version of the classic mill game. Each player has twelve men instead of nine, and the board adds diagonal lines, creating more ways to form mills. Everything else follows the same idea: line up three men to remove one of your opponent's.

The extra men and diagonals change the feel completely. After placement the board is so crowded that a single wasted move can decide the game, turning the calm mill dance of the smaller version into a tense, close-quarters scramble. It was popular in colonial America, where its density made for sharp, quick contests.

You can play Twelve Men's Morris free in your browser against the computer or a friend, with no download. If you know Nine Men's Morris, you'll adapt quickly, and the added complexity of the diagonals and the packed board gives it its own strategic character. It rewards precise, careful placement.
