About Fox & Geese

Fox and Geese is a medieval hunt game between wildly unequal sides: a single fox against a flock of geese. It was a favorite of Queen Victoria and helped pass countless long winters before her. The fox is strong but alone, and the geese are weak but many, which makes it a classic contest of predator versus numbers.

The balance is delicate and fascinating. The fox hunts by jumping over geese to eat them, thinning the flock, while the geese have no capturing power at all and can only advance and smother. The geese always have just enough pieces to win, but only if they waste none, so every goose matters.

You can play Fox and Geese free in your browser against the computer or with friends on one screen, with no download. It's easy to learn, but the two sides play completely differently, so mastering both is like learning two games. It's a tense little battle where one careless move can decide everything.
