You play by tapping groups of blocks, or clicking them with a mouse on a laptop; both work the same way. Select any block that is part of a connected group of two or more of the same color, and the whole group clears at once.

Two things happen every time you clear a group:

• Blocks fall and columns slide after a pop. Blocks above drop into the empty space, and if a whole column empties, the remaining columns slide together, constantly reshaping the board.
• Scoring rewards size because a group's points grow with the square of how many blocks it holds. Clearing ten blocks at once is worth far more than clearing them in two groups of five.

Single blocks with no matching neighbor cannot be removed, so the game ends when no group of two or more is left.

Clearing the entire board earns a bonus, and the difficulty rises across eight levels with more colors and tighter layouts.

Tips

• Build big groups before you pop them. Because score grows with the square of the group size, merging colors into one large blob and clearing it together is worth dramatically more than lots of small pops.
• Clear from the bottom to reshape the board. Removing blocks low down lets everything above fall and rearrange, which often connects same-colored blocks that were separated before.
• Watch out for stranded single blocks. A lone block with no matching neighbor can never be removed, so avoid clearing in a way that isolates the last of a color.
• Plan the order of your colors. The sequence you clear colors in changes how the board collapses, so think about which group to pop first to set up an even bigger one next.
• Aim to empty the whole board. The clear-everything bonus is large, so it is often worth passing up a quick group early to keep every color connected enough to finish clean.
• Save the most common color for last. The color you have the most of usually forms the biggest possible group, so leaving it until the end sets up your highest-scoring clear.
